London Zoo...

Thank you to everyone who left such heartfelt comments on my last post.

***

We had a lovely day out at the zoo. It wasn't very busy and it often felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We dodged the rain showers and marvelled at everything we saw...

There were creatures with scales...

Things with wings...

No2 remains sure that a Malaysian tapir is his favourite animal - we laughed when all of a sudden he decided to take a dip in his moat!

When I was small and hugely into animals of all kinds, my favourite animal was an okapi - partly because no one had ever heard of it and partly because they were so rare. London Zoo has 2 of them and I can say that they remain my favourite too...

We could have watched the gorillas for hours. They have a wonderful new enclosure where you can get really close-up to them...

We ended the day by becoming Friends of the Zoological Society of London which gives us unlimited admission to both London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo. We joined in memory of Tom, who loved all animals and loved going to the zoo...

  5. I'm glad you had a lovely day together.

Never got to London Zoo when I lived there. I was more into pubs! Now I have something to add to the list when someday we take the kids to London.
