4 :: Looking forward...

It's decision time here. The talk of late has been one of leaving school next summer and continuing No2's education at a college as school has never been his favourite place.

Suddenly, last week, that all changed.  He came home with the prospectus and informed me that he had chosen his subjects and would be staying on a his current school.

It felt like he grew up before my very eyes.  That evening we went to the 6th Form Forum and I have to confess to being mightily impressed.  So tomorrow we will be filling out the online application and then sitting back to see if he can get his grades. (Predictions are all very encouraging).

  1. Sometimes I think they have us doing pre-emptive worrying just for the hell of it!

    Glad he's settled on a choice - I did Geography for my A levels (and degree) and loved it. Even if that was back in the stone age.....

  2. It sounds like you are coming out of the dark days of mid teens to me !

  3. My eldest is thinking about what next - he's torn between A levels and applying for an apprenticeship which would see him leaving home and moving away college next September at only 16 1/2!

  4. Wellineverdid!! I am delighted that he is interested in Geography - I wish I had known as much about it when I was at school as I do now. It is a fascinating and diverse subject and has more than its fair share of interesting people. Good luck!

  5. Sounds like a hugely exciting time for you both. I loved the sixth for at my school - I hope No 2 does too!

  6. I'm with Ali, they like to keep us on our toes... (why? who knows.)

    And I did Geography too. Good luck to him.

  7. My eldest is at a similar stage in life - it doesn't seem long since she started school and now she is making big important decions about her future. A bit scary!
