Modified Bento Box...

Are you like me and wondering what just a Bento Box is without the modification?  I suppose I could Google it or do some other means of research, but to be honest, I'm happy not knowing at the moment.

All I do know is that I saw this fabulous tutorial and knew I wanted to give it a go.

Having finished piecing together Harry's quilt top and not having the backing fabric arrive yet, I was itching to get started on his brother, Max's quilt.  Again, I've got 20 different fabrics which I've grouped into 4 groups of 5, out of which I need to make 16 modified bento boxes.  Phew, thank goodness for calculators...

Anyway, here's the first one:

It's looking a bit wonky, but I need to trim it down before I join them altogether.  I love these Riley Blake fabrics, I got mine from here.  One down, 15 to go!

  1. A bento box is a japanese lunchbox with lots of tasty tidbits, beautifully arranged.

Which, when I put it like that, is the perfect description of your quilt square.
